Good morning everybody!  Hope this blog finds you well.  Wanted to share a message from our Amputees at Walter Reed to the victims in the Boston bombings.  It's a very powerful message for everybody.  Watch then share:

Hey All,

Sorry it's taken me so long to post.  My life has gotten a bit crazy and am just trying to hold on right now.  I am actually writing you on a Southwest flight headed to San Diego for the AOTA National Conference.  Very excited to go and can't wait to be there.  It's one of my favorite times of the year.  I love being around all the energy and crazyness.  Anyway, I realized that I never shared this video with you guys yet.  It's something that I worked up for the past year and have now finally gotten it complete.  Please feel free to watch and share.  It's the story of all our guys and their demonstration of what it really is to live your life to the fullest.  Hope you enjoy!  Here's the link:

The Washington Post Video on OT and such

You guys saw the newspaper clip about myself and SGT Bernardo.  Great stuff....but....I think this one is even better.  This is some of the video that they filmed of us doing "OT" type things.  SGT Bernardo can actually define OT a lot better than some of my fellow OTs out there.  Check it out.  A great watch.

American University Radio Interview

Another good piece on what we do here at Walter Reed in the Amputee Center from American University Radio.  The bit was done in October, but still pretty good.

Great Bit on Army OT and Me

So I had the incredible opportunity to sit for several hours with a writer from the Washington Post over the past several weeks.  The story goes that the reporter from the Post was supposed to spend an hour or so with me to understand OT better and to do a bit on it.  Well, after spending the hour with me and SGT Bernardo, he wanted to do a much larger piece on us.  He asked to be able to return a couple of times, so he ended up coming back several sessions.  One in the clinic, one in our ADL (Activities of Daily Living) apartment where I was doing a cooking class with Bernardo (Pancakes and Bacon), one doing a Golf treatment session outside, and one in a community re-integration setting where we went to Target.  Anyway, the story ended up being featured on the Front Page of the Washington Post on Christmas.  It was pretty cool.  The pic on the front is actually a funny moment because SGT Bernardo and had an impromptu wrestling match in the hallway.  He started beating me, so I had no choice but to rip his arm off.  Hahaha.  Anyway, check out the article.  I think you'll enjoy it.  Here's the link to it:

OT at it's finest!

OK Blogger Friends. Here's the deal. You know that as OTs, we strive to help our patients engage in purposeful activity and things they love. This has got to be one of the most amazing events that I've ever done. I've got a group of Patients up here in NYC today that will be performing with Pink Floyd at the Beacon Theater. Other guests will be Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Us, Max Weinberg Big Band, and comedy acts by Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, and Jon Stewart. Show is sold out, but you can watch it streaming at www.remind.org. Tell your friends! Here's a picture of our band!

Like Riding a bike

I Guess I should get some of my youtube on here.  Let me introduce you to one of my patients and now good friend, Josh Wetzel.  One of the best days we have with our guys are the days that they walk for the first time.  I started making short films about some of the awesome things my guys do.  I think you'll like them.  Enjoy......

The Olympics

Hey Guys,

Sorry I've been vacant from the page for a bit.  Turns out, I'm incredibly busy......all the time.  Hahaha.  Anyway, I've got a little time in the next few days, so I'm going to try and get some good stuff out there.

First things first......the olympics.  I actually love this time of year....or every four years because all of the US can agree about something and be excited about it.  There's just nothing like the feeling when people who represent your nation win the gold.  It's just awesome.  Better than that is this:

Digital Resumes

I recently happened upon this "Digital Resume" website.  It's pretty awesome.  I'm not done with mine yet, but in the age of digital awesomeness, this may be the next big thing.  The resume site I recommend is ResumUP.com.  Here's a quick pic of what my digital resume looks like:
